（中央社記者姜遠珍首爾10日專電）南韓總統府青瓦台表示，為了儘早遏止中東呼吸症候群（MERS）疫情以確保國民健康，總統朴槿惠決定延緩原定14至18日訪問美國的行程。
南韓聯合新聞通訊社報導，青瓦台公報首席秘書金聲宇今天在簡報中表示，朴槿惠總統正傾注全力以國家力量總動員來應對MERS疫情，並每天親自聽取疫情報告，尤其，本週將會是MERS疫情擴散與否的分水嶺，正動員官方有關部會和民間專家合力防止疫情擴散。
金聲宇強調，由於國民對MERS疫情惶恐不安，朴槿惠總統以國民安全為最優先考量，決定延緩訪問美國行程。
據報導，青瓦台已事先徵得美方諒解，並同意於日後韓美雙方都認為方便的時機，儘早赴訪。雖然朴槿惠的訪美行程推遲，但韓美仍將就朝鮮半島安全、合作夥伴關係等事宜繼續加強合作。1040610
